Cello Size Chart
Choosing the right cello size ensures comfortable posture, clean intonation and enjoyable playing. To measure for a cello, seat the student upright on a flat chair with their knees bent at a 90-degree angle (making sure they are not leaning forward or back). Using a tape measure, note the distance in centimetres from the outside of the left knee to the left ear.
You can also use the student's approximate height and age in the table below as a quick reference. If you are unsure between two sizes, an experienced cello teacher or our team can help you select the best fit.
